Relationship Dial
Few people in our unbelieving times believe in love at first sight, or even at second sight. You can get carried away, lose your head, immerse yourself in flirtation, and start casual coffee-and-chat sessions, but to fall in love? How much time do we need to spend with a man to realize the hands are pointing to the “I love you” mark? Do we trust the words, or have they become so worn out by repeated use that the magic word has lost its magic? In reality, a lot depends on you. If you’re already so tired of rough attempts and disappointed vows, you’ll have a hard time believing the next declaration. But in any case, the chronology of a relationship builds gradually, and you shouldn’t rush things.

If you’re even slightly self-critical, I think you’ll agree that some problems (if not most of them) are self-created. This manifests itself in your relationships with a man, too. For example, you start pressuring him, demanding that you move in together quickly. You’ve only been dating for a short time. If your partner isn’t ready, he’ll find an excuse not to. You keep pushing, but nothing moves forward. It’s interesting that many women get stuck in situations like these, making premature decisions. By trying to get what we want quickly, we drive him away. It’s hard to take a serious step when you’re constantly being pushed. A man definitely needs to be given space to showcase his strengths. And if you’re afraid he’ll run away if you even give him a chance to look around, is he really the man for you?
A good start
Milan Kundera, in his novel “The Unbearable Lightness of Being,” observed that how both partners behave in the early stages of a relationship sets the tone for everything that follows. Therefore, it’s important to agree on these principles even when the foundation of your relationship is being laid. Regardless, when you’re together, you live by certain rules: weekends are spent together, important decisions are always discussed, and a tender text message in the morning (only missed during arguments) is a must. We often don’t discuss them; these small and not-so-small traditions develop naturally and make our relationships unique. The main thing is to ensure that they bring you joy and don’t degenerate into a daily routine.
Justified efforts
Being with a man is only easy at first. When he’s romantic, when you’re unaware of his problems and vulnerabilities, his fights with his mother, and his business difficulties. The closer you become, the more clearly you can see what you’ll need to come to terms with and accept, or fight and reject. In a relationship, it’s rare to be able to say with certainty, “Just yesterday I realized I love him!” It’s like stepping into cool water: at first, you’re hesitant to even take a dip, but at some point it warms up and you no longer want to swim to shore. And then we dive in headfirst, without regret or concealing our feelings. So if you fall in love, you’ll be able to embrace both sides of the coin. But no one promises it will be easy.
